Break of Day

1st-level evocation

Casting Time: 1 action, or 1 special reaction described in the spell
Range: Self
Components: V, S, M (a pinch of salt)
Duration: Instantaneous

You glow with the light of the rising sun. Until the end of your next turn, you shed bright light in a 30-foot radius and dim light for an additional 30 feet. While you glow, you have advantage on attack rolls against creatures that you can see. If this spell was cast using the special reaction granted by it, you also gain immunity to all damage until the end of your next turn. At the end of that turn, you drop to 0 hit points and start dying. Nothing can prevent this loss of hit points.
Special. As long as you are able to cast this spell and have not used your reaction, if damage would reduce you to 0 hit points but not outright kill you, you can instead drop to 1 hit point. If you do, you must use your reaction to cast this spell.

Clinging Mists

1st-level conjuration

Casting Time: 1 action, or 1 special reaction described in the spell
Range: 60 feet
Components: V, S
Duration: 1 minute

You create a 10-foot-radius sphere of fog centered on a point within range. The sphere spreads around corners, and its area is heavily obscured, It lasts for the duration or until a wind of moderate or greater speed (at least 10 miles per hour) disperses it. If this spell was cast using the special reaction granted by it, the area where the fog touches the ground (if it does) becomes difficult terrain for as long as the fog remains.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the radius of the fog increases by 10 feet for each slot level over 1st.
Special. As long as you are able to cast this spell and have not used your reaction, if damage would reduce you to 0 hit points but not outright kill you, you can instead drop to 1 hit point. If you do, you must use your reaction to cast this spell, then you drop to 0 hit points. Nothing can prevent this loss of hit points.
