Artifacts of Unstable in D&D: Sword of Dungeons and Dragons

I’ve been requested to do a D&D version of this card since it was first announced, so here it is – Sword of Dungeons and Dragons in MTG:

Sword of Dungeons and Dragons
Sword – Legendary (requires attunement)
You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon; when in an underground area, such as a dungeon, you gain an additional +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this weapon. Once per day, on a critical hit made with this weapon, you summon an adult gold dragon into an empty space within 20 feet of you. The dragon acts immediately after you in initiative order, and is controlled by the Dungeon Master. While attuned to this weapon, you cannot be surprised, and have resistance to radiant damage.

I wanted to do this item as an individual post since it’s something that has been asked for for ages, and now, with the release of Unstable, I’ve got the perfect opportunity to post it. The rules for this item are directly translated from the card, with a fun little add-on for a specific benefit for a wielder in a dungeon. Coupled with the dragon summoning, it truly is a sword of both Dungeons and Dragons.

For some more items on the wackier side, check out my Unstable tag!
