Hello, do you have any advice how to best represent mtg’s green elementals? I have a druid player and I’d love to give them the option to transform into one

I’d say they’ll want to play a Circle of the Moon Druid, as the 10th level ability for that subclass allows them to transform into an Air, Earth, Fire or Water Elemental (Earth Elementals being ideal for representing green mana-based elementals). With that ability as a basis, you could (at your discretion for the kind of player power-level you want in your game) expand it to include other elemental creatures of higher CR as the player character reaches higher levels, in particular for representing green elementals, you could use the Galeb Duhr, or Earth Elemental Myrmidon from Princes of the Apocalypse.

On a related note, the Primeval Guardian subclass from Unearthed Arcana Ranger & Rogue has a similar sort of flavour to it for Ranger characters, which is actually the basis for a player character in a MTG campaign I’m going to be running in the future. The main ability it presents is the character being able to grow a natural exoskeleton, flavoured similarly to elemental-themed cards like Vines of Vastwood or Earthen Arms.
