Dark Depths by Stephan Martiniere Marit Lage. An immortal horror from some distant and unknown realm, Marit Lage is a singularly-powerful plane-crossing titan. Vaguely resembling a kraken in her colossal form, her presence on Dominaria is long forgotten by most. After wreaking devastation on the plane, she was sealed in a glacier during the ice age, by … Continue reading Marit Lage in D&D
Zur The Enchanter (Art by Josu Hernaiz) My design supposes that Zur did, as many of his followers believed, achieve immortality (or something close to it, as many powerful spellcasters on Dominaria do), and still wanders the frozen wastes of Dominaria’s northernmost continent. Staff of the Frozen Wastes Staff, Very Rare (requires attunement by a sorcerer, … Continue reading Zur the Enchanter in D&D
I’ve actually been designing a lot of dragons recently, and I’m really enjoying designing them! I’d love to do the Elder Dragons and was already planning to, so you can definitely expect them at some point in the future, probably once the Dragonlords of Tarkir cycle is finished! In the meantime, all my dragons are … Continue reading Since Dominaria came out are the elder dragons of that plane on the table?
Plane Shift: Dominaria
“All hail the Demonlord Belzenlok, Evincar of the Stronghold, Scion of Darkness, Doom of Fools, Lord of the Wastes, Master of the Ebon Hand, Eternal Patriarch of the Cabal…” This week I’m continuing with Dominaria content, this time with a look at the Cabal. Themes to use when implementing the Cabal in your games: Revisionist History. … Continue reading Dominaria in D&D: The Cabal
Player’s Companion – Homarids (Download) As the Dominaria art book is released this week, I thought I’d make some more Dominaria content to coincide with it, and as they’re one of the lesser-known fan favourites, I felt Homarids would be a fun thing to design. For designing the player race, aside from the mechanics that … Continue reading
For my designs for the Weatherlight characters, I wanted to make sure that despite the powers some of them have, they remained balanced with other player characters, in case a player would want to integrate them into a party with other PCs. With Gerrard in particular, I reasoned that the high number of ability score … Continue reading Gerrard lacks the Blood line project stats boost (or at least the mention), also some questions. Should he have a +2 in all as he is the “ultimate human” that the project made? Higher charisma as he appears in to have it(see the card Charisma)? Or an extra ability to give an order as in some of the leader type npc? I haven’t read any novel or such so this are at worse bad guesses from the things I know.
Following on from my design for the Skyship Weatherlight in D&D last week, this week I’ve designed character sheets for playing as some of the most iconic members of the Weatherlight crew. (Click the names for download links) Gerrard Capashen Captain Sisay Hanna, Ship’s Navigator Mirri, Weatherlight Duelist Tahngarth, Talruum Hero Orim, Samite Healer Bonus: … Continue reading D&D Premade Character Sheets:
The Original Weatherlight Crew
Aside from regular statblocks of legendary creatures that I’ve designed to fill a an ally or boss enemy role in games, I do have something new coming this weekend in terms of legendary creatures which isn’t just statblocks. It’s linked to Dominaria, I’ve made it in collaboration with some other content creators in the MTG … Continue reading Honestly, I’m just a sucker for MtG’s legendary creatures. Any chance we can get some of them? Anything from Aboshan to Zurgo.
Skyship Weatherlight in D&D (Download) For the release week of Dominaria, I decided to make my first rules set for a vehicle with the most iconic one in magic’s history: The Skyship Weatherlight. This design works using the rules for Airborne and Waterborne Vehicles found on page 119 of the Dungeon Mater’s Guide. The additional … Continue reading
